How to write romance novella by Mina Esguerra

Contemporary romance novellas are fun, light, quick reads. Usually less than 50,000 words, about the many ways that men and women meet, fall in love, and live happily ever after.

Maybe predictable, if you've read enough of them, but for a writer that just means this is a great format to start a career with. This book will help you:
1. Learn a simple plot structure for a romance novella
2. Set a reasonable and practical writing schedule
3. Finish the manuscript and prepare it for publication

This is pretty much everything I handed over to the class in the online forum. At least, everything they needed to complete their books. It's about 60 pages, and is available in paperback for P500.00. If you're one of the 100 people already in the class Facebook group, you will have a special price (less than P500 definitely, if you want it at all haha).

Email minavesguerra@gmail.com if you'd like a copy! Or order from CreateSpace.

FILCOLS Member Anvil Publishing presents Celebrating Rizal

This June, Anvil Publishing, Inc. presents “Celebrating Rizal”,  to honor the Philippines' most acclaimed author, doctor, artist, but most of all, our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.
In four amazing books, we pay homage to the history and legacy of Rizal, once considered to be “Asia's Renaissance Man”. We get a glimpse of his life and literature in Rizal: Makata by Virgilio Almario, Anvil Jose Rizal Reader edited by Ani V. Habúlan, Looking Back 5 and Rizal Without the Overcoat both by noted historian and Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist, Ambeth R. Ocampo.
In Rizal: Makata by National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario, he attempts to rediscover and understand Rizal's personality through his writings, and his less known talent as poet.Almario sheds  new light on some of Rizal's iconic masterpieces like the famous poem, To My Fellow Youth.
The Anvil Jose Rizal Reader, edited by Ani V. Habulan,  is a “collection of essays, stories, poetry and images based on and inspired by Jose Rizal’s life and works as celebrated through the eyes of both the young and old. "This anthology hopes to re-acquaint Filipinos with their hero and re-ignite in them the compassion and commitment to country he had during his time.” The book features works in English and Filipino by Ambeth Ocampo, Randy David, Adrian Cristobal, Conrado de Quiros, Barbara Gonzalez, Rene Villanueva, Vince Rafael, Vim Nadera, Mario Miclat, E. San Juan Jr. and many more.
Ambeth Ocampo, best known for his books on Rizal, offers loads of historical facts and trivia in Looking Back 5.  Poet-publisher Ramon Sunico says that this book, besides offering the usual juicy titbits, looks back not just at our history but also on Ocampo's life as an historian, this book being written for his 50th birthday. "His introduction alone is already worth the price of admission.”
In Rizal Without the Overcoat, Ocampo manages to tickle our imagination and get our senses running with some exciting and very controversial information on Rizal's private life including his travels and his relationships with his family. He tries to impart among the young a sense of his research in the hopes of encouraging in them a similar curiosity and enthusiasm for historical facts.
All these books are available at the History Section of National Book Store, Powerbooks and Bestsellers.+++
